Gyms as we know them won’t be with us again for quite a while. During the long closures, we have made a lot of changes that are in line with government orders and recommendations.

We have gone above and beyond those so we can help to ensure that we have the safest gym possible so you can train in confidence. Here are some of the changes we have made.

What sanitary changes have been made due to Covid-19?

There are many things we have changed including using a new cleaning solution that we use as well as sanitising stations throughout the gym and the entrance. Some of these stations are stands that use a foot pedal to distribute the sanitiser.

The housekeeping team has been trained with new schedules and priorities as compared to before the lockdown.

You can call on them at any point to sanitise any piece of equipment before and after you use it.

Door handles, machine/dumbbell/barbell grips, machine seats and anything else regularly touched will be cleaned every hour and as needed within each session.

There are also changes in other sections of this regarding masks, limiting members per hour and closing the showers and steam to help keep everyone safe.

The entire team will be wearing a face mask, face shield or both.

How has the team been trained?

All of our trainers have completed and passed a Covid Safe Sports Coaches and Officials certification issued by the Australian Coaching Council. Certificates can be found at our entrance.

Can I just walk in and train like before the virus?

Sorry, all sessions must be pre-booked so that we can manage the number of people in the gym at any one time. There are many procedures and recommendations made by the government that we need to adhere to.

How do I book my sessions?

You can book by downloading the Invictus app for either Android or iPhone , signing in and going to ‘services’ and then selected the session before clicking on ‘reserve’. You can also watch this quick video showing you how.

People only with a pre-booked session will be allowed to enter the gym for their training. You can book 3 days in advance and check-ins start 15 minutes before your session starts. If you are more than 15 minutes late you won’t be able to enter for that particular session.

Sessions are 50 minutes long with 10 minutes in between so that people can leave before the next batch starts to come through the doors.

What do I need to bring to the gym?

Towel, a water bottle, mask and your phone.

Also, we will not have any cups available for water so make sure you bring your water bottle.

We will be removing all the mats as recommended in the government guidelines. You are welcome to bring and use your own if it is needed for your session.

Finally, contactless check-ins will be standard now, so your phone is needed with the Invictus app installed and your session pre-booked. 

Do I have to wear a mask?

Yes, face coverings are compulsory to enter the gym. You will need to wear either a mask or face shield, whichever you are more comfortable with.

Keep in mind a mask will offer a higher level of protection.

If you are seen removing or uncovering your face you may be asked to leave the gym floor.

What about temperature checks?

Yes, every day that you come you will have both your temperature and blood oxygen saturation levels taken.

For temperature, you must be below 37.4°c to enter the gym. With the oximeter, you need to record a reading of 95% or more.

As per the government guidelines, readings outside the recommended values will result in us having to call the authorities. So please do not attend the gym if there are any small symptoms or you are feeling even a little unwell.
