- Learn Self-Defense
Boxing is a combat sport, or rather a fighting sport. Learning its basics and techniques is an excellent form of self-defense.
These sports have existed since the beginning of mankind, and every combat sport will equip you with self-defense techniques. It is all about punches and fast footwork, and this can help you save yourself from danger if you know where to hit, how to hit, how much power to put in and how to protect yourself in an unforeseen situation.
- Mind and Body Coordination
This sport is not just fought physically. It takes a lot of mental strength to coordinate the different parts of your body and coordinate it with proper timing through the nervous system. It is easy and expected for the mind to get activated in danger via the sympathetic nervous system (our fight or flight mechanism), but at the time same, the body is not able to react to it. Learning the techniques of boxing and practicing them will help you set up a sound mind and body coordination, with which you can respond as soon as your brain gets the ‘alert’.
- Cardio and Endurance Work
Boxing can help anyone lose fat and increase overall strength as it involves a lot of cardiovascular and endurance training methods.
Boxing is all about stamina, endurance, and condition Each session can be intensive (but always scaled to the person taking the class). Every day a boxing class is different – cardiotechniques, endurance techniques, agility, bodyweight strength workouts, weighted conditioning workouts, and many more. With all of this put together, the one-hour session is going to help you shed fat and gain strength!
- Agility and Reflexes.
Combat sports are highly intense, and directly improve your agility and reflex timing.
In boxing, one needs to be very quick, and we teach you how to do precisely that. . The agility drills in the class will help you become faster and more nimble on your feet. If you are doing anything fast, and doing it for an extended period, it will automatically become an intense session and help raise your metabolism and burn any excess fat..
- Overall Increased Performance
Keeping in mind all the benefits discussed, a boxing class is sure to increase your overall ability and performance – inside the gym and outside of it. Higher the performance levels, higher the physical results, and vice versa.
